Horizon — My Book of Social Science — isa series of eight books for classes 1 to 8 that strictly conforms to the guidelines of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 and are founded on NCERT’s latest guidelines following the visions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Books 1 to 5 of the series are for classes 1 to 5 which focus on the objectives of the National Focus Group on the Teaching of Social Science at the Primary Stage to enable the learners to draw relationship between past and present so that they can understand the changes taking place in the society.

Books 6 to 8 are for classes 6 to 8 which encompass diverse concerns of the society and include a wide range of content drawn from the disciplines of Geography, History and Social and Political Science to enable the students to have a critical understanding of the society. The focus of the series is to lay a strong foundation for an analytical and creative mindset.

In order to make the process of learning participative, emphasis has been laid on debate and discussions than on mere imparting of information. This will keep both the teachers and the learners in the know of social realities and make the teaching and learning of Social Science meaningful and fun.
